How we use Donations Responsibly

At Child Relief  trust matters.

When you give, you deserve to understand how your donation is used, why our programmes work the way they do, and how we protect your generosity.

This page explains our approach in simple terms.

Our Promise to Donors

Every donation you make is used to benefit children.

We exist for one reason only:

To make children happy, safe, and supported, especially in crisis and conflict-affected areas. That promise guides every financial and operational decision we make.

Why our price points say “can provide”

You may notice that our programme price points use the words “can provide” rather than “will provide”.

This is intentional.

We work in some of the most fragile and fast-changing environments in the world. Conditions on the ground can change quickly due to:

  • security and access
  • supply availability
  • weather and seasonal challenges
  • border closures or local restrictions

What works perfectly in one place may need to be adapted in another - even within the same country. Using “can provide” allows our teams to respond safely, responsibly, and ethically, without being locked into rigid promises that may not always be practical or in a child’s best interests.

Our 100% Donation Policy

Child Relief's 100% Donation Policy means:

  • 100% of donations go to programme delivery or programme-related costs
  • Donations are not used for general office running costs
  • Organisational costs are covered separately

This policy allows donors to give with confidence, knowing their donation goes where it matters most - to children.

Responsible use, not rigid delivery

Responsible humanitarian work requires judgement. Sometimes this means:

  • adapting a food pack to what is locally available
  • adjusting quantities to reach more children
  • prioritising safety or access over exact specifications

We believe it would be unethical to:

  • over-promise fixed outputs
  • deliver unsuitable aid just to match a label
  • or risk children’s wellbeing for the sake of rigid descriptions

Flexibility protects impact - and honesty protects trust.

Transparency and accountability

We are committed to:

  • clear programme descriptions
  • realistic price points
  • ongoing monitoring and reporting
  • openness about how and why decisions are made

If you ever have questions about how your donation is used, we welcome them. Transparency is part of how we earn and keep your trust.

What Never Changes

While conditions may vary, some things never change:

  • Your donation is always used to benefit children
  • Funds are used for programme-related work, not general office costs
  • Decisions are made with children’s safety, dignity, and wellbeing first
  • We do not over-promise or exaggerate impact

Our priority is real help, not marketing claims.
