About us

We Make Children Happy!

Child Relief is the children's charity, 100% committed to children.

We go the extra mile to make children smile!

We do not exist to help a small number of children quietly but reach out to as many children as possible, aiming to grow our impact year after year.

We are ambitious and intentionally invest in scale to amplify the reach of our programmes and their impact on children. We are passionate about changing outcomes for children - not just maintaining activity.

Happy children change everything. When children laugh loud, it makes us proud. We feel good - and we should!

Hugs and happiness, transforming the world.

Child Relief - Make Children Happy!

Our Purpose

We exist to make children happy. Children are the most vulnerable people on the planet, yet they are our future. When children feel safe, understood, and cared for, their potential shines. That’s why everything we do reaches children quickly, safely, and at scale.

Our Vision

We want to see a world where every child is happy. A world where children are healthy, respected, and valued - free to dream, grow, and imagine a better future. A world where no child is left behind because help was too small, too slow, or never arrived.

Our Mission

Our mission is to transform children’s lives at speed and at scale. We deliver and grow programmes that make children happy, prioritising children affected by emergencies, extreme poverty, and crisis - so support reaches them when it matters most and in ways that truly change lives.

Significantly impacting the lives of children...

...through bold, creative, child-centred interventions built on child logic - what children truly need, feel, and respond to. Every programme is designed to make sense to a child, protect their dignity, spark joy, and create meaningful change that children can feel in their everyday lives.

But impact without scale is not enough.

Children are the most vulnerable people on the planet, and their needs are urgent. At Child Relief, it is unacceptable for a child to suffer because help was too small, too slow, or limited by capacity. That is why scale is not optional - it is a responsibility.

We design everything to grow - to move faster, reach further, and respond wherever children need us most. Our ambition is simple and uncompromising: to reach as many children as possible, as quickly as possible, and to do it well.

This is how we make children happy.

Our Values

We put children first - always, everywhere

Children are the reason we exist, and they guide every decision we make. Putting children first means designing programmes, systems, and strategies that serve their best interests now and in the future. It means making choices that allow us to reach more children safely, quickly, and sustainably - without ever compromising their dignity or wellbeing. We are 100% committed to children - and that commitment grows stronger as our reach grows wider.

We stand up for children - loudly and relentlessly

Children need advocates who are brave, visible, and impossible to ignore. We campaign, raise funds, and speak out when something is wrong - not quietly, but with the ambition and reach needed to influence hearts, minds, and systems. Standing up for children means amplifying their needs so their voices are heard far beyond one place or moment. We also celebrate success, because sharing what works helps accelerate change for more children.

We build to scale

We believe children’s needs are urgent - and urgent needs require scale. At Child Relief, we do not exist to help a small number of children quietly. We exist to reach as many children as possible, as quickly and sustainably as possible, and to grow our impact year after year. That is why our approach to programme delivery includes building for scale. Our programme costs responsibly include the essential investment needed to raise awareness, reach new supporters, strengthen systems, and grow future funding for children. Scaling is not a distraction from impact - it is how impact grows.

We make impact

We exist to make children happy and healthy - not just a few, but as many children as possible. When children feel boosted, they are on top of the world. Humanity needs happy, healthy children, and today’s crises demand solutions that reach far and wide. That’s why we focus on interventions that can be delivered efficiently, repeatedly, and sustainably. For us, real impact means measurable change for children - multiplied over time and across communities.

We strive for excellence

Reaching more children matters. Doing it well matters just as much. We hold ourselves to high standards because scaling impact requires strong systems, trusted delivery, and constant learning. We listen, measure, improve, and refine - ensuring that as we grow, our work remains effective, responsible, and worthy of trust. Excellence is how we protect children today - and how we responsibly scale help for tomorrow.

We work together - to go further

We believe the best way to help more children is to work together. Collaboration allows us to extend our reach, strengthen delivery, and learn faster. We partner with like-minded organisations, communities, and children themselves, combining strengths so our work can travel further and achieve more than any one organisation could alone. When others join us, our impact multiplies.
